TCAF

Welcome

The profession of psychology has recognized the need to provide rehabilitative and monitoring mechanisms for those of its members who may experience impairments that affect daily functioning and/or performance of professional duties. To meet this need, the Tennessee Colleague Assistance Foundation (TCAF) has been established in conjunction with the Tennessee Psychological Association (TPA) to assist mental healthcare providers and the Tennessee Board of Examiners (BOE) in Psychology, in the interest of public protection.

The purpose of the TCAF is to provide a statewide peer review program to ensure appropriate intervention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of impaired mental healthcare professionals; to provide support and advocacy for professionals deemed fit to return to practicing, or to continue practicing; and to provide ongoing monitoring services for "recovering" mental healthcare providers as they resume their professional role. The TCAF is designed to be actively involved in early intervention and impairment prevention education, community service programs, and professional development.
